This course can provide all material needed to take the SPBLA Residential Exam. If you do not need the material, select the "no materials needed" option below. We recommend attending at least 4 classes, but you may attend up to 7 for no additional charge.


Course location: 223 Georgette St. Lafayette, LA 70506

Course start time: 8:00am (Fridays) 7:00am (Saturdays)

SPBLA 2026 Baton Rouge Residential Exam Schedule:

The Residential exam consists of a one (1) part, 80 question, 3-hour written exam and a 1-hour, 3 part practical (hands-on) portion.


The written exam is based on the following reference material:

  • 2021 International Residential Code (IRC)


The practical portion of the exam includes a:

  • Screw Pipe Project
  • Copper Project
  • Floor Project
